Over the past 5 years, the Future Matters team has already worked with 2000 individuals, 700 companies, 100 schools and a host of organisations in the public sector on futures thinking activities designed to help the North East embrace the future.

One of the leading strategic futures consultancies of its kind in the UK, Future Matters was launched in December 2005 and aims to ensure the region places innovation and new technology at the heart of its economy.

The initiative brings together the skills and experience of the DTI’s Foresight programme, which has grown steadily since 1996 and SHiNE (Shaping Horizons in the North East).
